I am a landscape photographer based in Charlotte, NC. I began shooting film in my teens in the 1970’s, using an Olympus OM 10. I quickly learned that I enjoyed taking pictures of the landscape, preserving the memories of adventures and travels. As the years went by, life took my attention elsewhere - starting a career in medicine, starting a family. I transitioned to digital imaging in the early 2000’s for the ease of taking and saving family images. In the last 10 years, I returned to film, enjoying the precision and craftsmanship of the film cameras of the 1970s and 1980s. Eventually, I became fascinated with shooting large format film, 4x5 format. The challenge of correctly composing and exposing images, and the tactile part of using film became a joy. More recently, I’ve been shooting full frame digital, as I’ve expanded my travels. Traveling to far off destinations, going through customs, and hiking, are a lot easier with a digital set-up! I anticipate continuing to shoot in both digital and film media. I hope you enjoy the images presented here, and please contact me for information about purchasing a print.
